minzoku NEO-shintô is, "A universalist approach to an existential Japanese folk religion." To break it down, universalist means it's open to anyone who's sincerely interested, it's not just for people of Japanese ancestory. Existential means it's based on personal experience, not on scripture or dogma. Folk religion means it's a religion as practiced by the commons – the everyday people – and on a local basis; it's not a religion as taught in the seminaries, universities, or on a national or international basis.
Why is it NEO-shintô?
While it is primarily Japanese shintô, like most folk religions everywhere, it incorporates elements from other cultures and makes their expressions uniquely its own. Locally, this includes practices and forms derived from the various groups that make up Paganistan.

This talk and discussion will cover the underlying theory of Local Magic, learnings from the Southern Hemisphere and Australian Paganism, the Circle of Eight structure and how to begin working the Circle of Eight anywhere.

Many Pagan and spiritual people work to increase their psychic sensitivity and their empathy. There are many benefits to having increased sensitivity, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Becoming inundated and overwhelmed by other people’s emotions and highly charged atmosphere can be problematic. This workshop will offer straightforward tech- niques to manage your sensitivity so that it remains a benefit rather than becoming a detriment. Moreover, a technique will be shared to harness the excess energy so that it can be used, not just abated.

There is much talk in magickal and spiritual circles about what is meant by contacts, lineages, and egregores. This class will present definitions, descriptions, and some of the esoteric mechanisms of action for these and related matters. The perspectives of both the Ceremonial and the Pagan branches of the Western Magickal Tradition will be taken into consideration. The meaning of initiation will also be explored in the light of these concepts. The impact of these collective consciousnesses on both individuals and their groups will also be touched upon.

Most magickal traditions use some form of divine embodiment in their rituals in which a priestess or a priest becomes for a time the vehicle for the presence of one of the Great Ones. When it works, it is awe-inspiring, and can act as a great catalyst for change. When it fails, and is no more than role playing or ritual theater, it can encourage cynicism, disillusionment, and diminished expectations of what is possible in ritual. The strengths and the weaknesses of assumption of god forms, drawing down, aspecting, and divine possession will be compared to each other.

The term "People or Person of Faith" is used often to refer to Christians, Jews,, or Moslems, but does this apply to Pagans? How do we live our faith as polytheists, duotheists and other combinations? How do we own what we do as Pagans, regardless of religious path, in our outward and inward expressions? Often others don't see the faith because Pagans are seen as social, rather than religious. So, how do we demonstrate through practice that a tradition under the Pagan umbrella is just as serious as one of the big three?

The 12 signs of The Zodiac represent the forms of human wisdom and folly. Whether or not you know much about the sacred science of Astrology, this workshop will give you the tools to use these 12 styles of consciousness to further your spiritual and emotional development. We will also touch upon how the Signs are powerful beings that can be called upon for guidance.

For those consciously working to embrace their highest potential, many approaches to personal healing incorporate the concept of working with the Higher Self and higher vibrational energy. But, as much as we draw inspiration from our highest selves, we also respond to the environment around us, whether we have awareness of that or not. Our ancient mythological heritage, with its roots in the agricultural cycle, offers an eloquent and illuminating guide. In this presentation, we will travel the Wheel of the Year as it relates to emotional blocks and psychological issues. Relevant tools for healing that reflect each aspect of the seasonal cycle will provide an approach to self-awareness, fusing Nature, the psyche and Energy Psychology.

More and more, there is acknowledgment that we are multi-dimensional beings, reverberating with the energy of the Cosmos. But we are also of the Earth and she has much to teach us about how to bring ourselves into alignment and balance.
